Wow - amazing photos! I love the clematis! And that cardinal is precious! I have a pair of them that have hung around here for several years, year round! They have quite a distinctive sound that they make, so even if I don't see them, if I hear them I know to look and can usually spot them after a bit!

Thanks for the compliments guys!!!! :purpleblob:
Late last year I started feeding the birds-you should see how many we get around here!!!! Everything from the big grackles to the tiny little chickadees :hearthrob: I can hear them all out there yelling for me now lol I usually feed them first thing, but I'm running a little behind today. The cardinals, bluejays and mockingbirds are my favorite visitors- but its hard to choose favorites, especially this time of year with all the babies around :hearthrob: I think I'm going to go out and feed them now, and see if I can get any new pics :camera: How does a birdie thread sound???

Ok- the bird thread is up and running :jive:
I forgot to show off the bid weekend project! We FINALLY planted something out front!!!! We used to have the biggest, prettiest hydranges out front-- but someone decided that they did'nt like them, and ripped them out--so not only did we lose our beautiful flowers- but *butthead left the big empty space there :dodgy: so finally we had enough, and went to the garden store and picked up some lovely hostas-and I already forgot the name of the other little thing :dunce:
Yay!!!! It does'nt look blah anymore :blobyellow:

We have 2 white hostas, and one purple

And the poor little plant that I already forgot the name of :sniffle: How could I forget the name so quick?!?!?
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c66/kittycats4me/IMG_0107.jpg
They all seem to be doing well-I can't wait to see how big the hostas get!!!

Those Hostas will do great. It looks like a shady spot and that's what they like best. If Hydrangeas grew there, I bet the Hostas and that other plant (?? ) kick butt. They all like acid soil.
The garden pics are simply fabulous! That's as cool as it gets.

Yeah, i wish we still had the hydrangeas :sniffle: they were so pretty! Purple, blue and pink- and as big as they get-they were great as cuttings too. Oh well, just have to get used to the hostas :SmilieFlower: As far as those little plants, the tag said they made a great companion to hostas- they also get small white, branchy fowers on them in the early spring-- I'm just going to have to go do a web search for them- It's driving me crazy!!!!!

Such a delicate little flower :biggrinlove:
Did you have your planted in the sun or shade? The guy at the nursery recommended ours for our shade garden- but after looking at them online- it looks as though they prefer sun :confused2: I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they like it there :biggrin2:

Mine was in shade, but the darker leaf probably made that make sense. I would say they can grow wherever the hostas can.

Coral Bells are tough little buggers; they can grow in full sun or shade. The bronze/purple leafed ones I love planting. Like a Smoke Tree, the purple foliage is outstanding and very vivid, to say nothing of their pretty little flowers. I plant lots of those among my perennial choices.
