What couldn't you live without?

I am constantly using a pair of kitchen shears. I know that isn't normal, but I can't live without them :lol2: I have been using a lot of green jute lately for holding things back.

My yard is mostly perennials, but when I planted annuals, I used to use my bulb planter all of the time.

What are your favorites? I am always willing to try something new!

Short handled 3 prong claw, just right for digging around plants, grabbing a weed or briar, getting a handful of leaves up. :)

Cheater! My husband has to dig the big holes for me with a spade!

"Work smarter, not harder!" is my saying, Toni. We actually own a Bobcat, this one is a rental unit. Just the same, it's my fave. It can move 1,000 pound rocks and place them delicately on rubber liner. I sometimes feel like a watchsmith or a jeweler.........just bigger.

I can't show my husband that picture. He would be asking too many questions about the golf course! :lol2:

LOL, Karen. Of hand tools, my personal favorite is pretty straightforward. I have a shovel that has lasted a while. Everyone knows to keep it for me. lol We break shovels weekly, with all the rocks here.

I love my half moon edger!! :lol2:

Seriously, to look at me, you certainly wouldn't expect me to have a beautifully edged lawn, but I love it that way! :lol2:

My lawn is better dressed than me! ;) :lol2:

Felco #2 Pruners...or any Felco shear. They last forever, are dependable, and can appeal to anyone that appreciates finely made tools.

Wow, welcome to VF, Barrie! Time to visit you and your forum! I love your blog, I want to say right up front. I love those Felco's myself. My problem is being a construction hound like I am, delicate things like those cannot withstand a bunch of heavy objects which almost always seem to land on top of them, moving tools to new sites or just being misplaced like we do in our semi-sloppy construction operations. I bet I have bought 100 of those over the years. I use them so seldom, I can't use a holster to keep them safe, yet, when I do use them, someone else does too and they walk or get lost. Sigh, you're so right. A good set of pruners is an absolute must for any gardener.
